Semi Precious

Semi Precious is South London-based multi-instrumentalist Guy Baron. When We Talk, Baron's minimalist gem of an EP, came out via NX in 2015. These six fleeting explorations in celestial pop conjure a kaleidoscopic landscape - isolated fractions of rhythm and vapour-trail melodies colliding to a backdrop of urbane solitude.

With each song delicately constructed using a palette of sparse percussion and manipulated samples, they loop in and out of phase like circling atoms as time seems to bend and bubble. These are refracted thoughts, songs of love and longing swathed in dissected swells of strings, a sonic nostalgia dismantled and inverted like the fleeting memory of a dream.
